What was he to do?
I sat him down one day, said, son, it’s gonna be OK
We’ll start where you began and we’ll come up with a plan
What do you have to say?

He said, walk a mile in my shoes, get to feel my blues

You’ve gotta do it with a smile else you walk another mile

It’s up to you to choose
I listened to his tale, he seemed destined to fail
Everything he tried fell by the wayside
His ship had yet to sail
I took him to one side, forget about your pride
There’s no time to be sad, you’ve got reason to be glad
Don’t run and hide

Walk a mile in my shoes, get to feel my blues

Do it with a smile else you walk another mile
At last he saw the light, he wouldn’t go without a fight
I’ve lost a lot of time, but what’s left is surely mine
The end is now in sight
CHORUS x 2
This song was written in July 2018 while I was recovering from my mountain bike accident which had left me
with a badly broken femur. I was reflecting on the mistakes and poor decisions I had made in my life,
not least riding a bicycle with a wobbly head!
Needless to say, I was feeling both sorry for myself and angry at how dumb I had been.
I recorded it in August 2018.
